Polish Club reveal upcoming album ‘Pound Cake’, featuring collaboration with Dobby and tour dates
Polish Club is gearing up to release their sixth studio album titled Pound Cake, which is scheduled to drop independently on Friday, May 23rd. This new album comes hot on the heels of their previous release, Heavy Weight Heart, which hit the scene in September of 2024. The band has also treated fans to new music from the upcoming album and announced a series of national tour dates.
Following their earlier double A-side of ‘Take It’ and ‘S.N.A.F.U.,’ Polish Club has unveiled the latest single from their album titled ‘Something On The Side,’ featuring ARIA Award-winning rapper Dobby. This marks the band’s first ever collaborative single, accompanied by a music video shot entirely by lead vocalist/guitarist David Novak on a 360-degree camera in Hurstville, situated in the southern suburbs of Sydney. Novak humorously mentioned in a newsletter to fans that the editing process was quite tedious.
The dynamic duo of Novak and drummer John-Henry Pajak recorded Pound Cake at The Confectionery, a studio located in Sydney’s inner west, with the guidance of long-time producer and collaborator Wade Keighran. Apart from being available on streaming platforms and as a digital download, Polish Club is also offering 300 vinyl copies of the album in “random recycled color,” which fans can grab from their official website.
In celebration of the album launch, Polish Club will embark on a series of intimate shows in June, known as the Pound Cake It If Ya Horny tour. These exclusive events will be the band’s only appearances held in support of Pound Cake.
