SAVATAGE, after a lengthy absence from live performances, finally made their triumphant return on April 19th at the Monsters Of Rock festival in São Paulo, Brazil. The band’s lineup consists of Johnny Lee Middleton on bass, Chris Caffery and Al Pitrelli on guitars, Jeff Plate on drums, and Zak Stevens on lead vocals. Unfortunately, founding member Jon Oliva was unable to join the group due to a severe accident in 2023 that left him with serious injuries to his T7 vertebra, in addition to being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and Ménière’s disease.

The band’s setlist for the Monsters Of Rock performance included a mix of classic hits and fan favorites, such as “The Ocean,” “Welcome,” “Jesus Saves,” and “The Wake Of Magellan.” Some of these songs were performed live for the first time in many years, adding to the anticipation and excitement of the show. The band also paid tribute to Oliva by including “Believe,” which he typically performs on piano, with a video of him on screen and the band joining in after the first chorus.

Following their performance at Monsters Of Rock, SAVATAGE has a series of tour dates planned for the rest of 2025. They are set to perform in various locations across South America and Europe, including stops in Chile, Germany, the UK, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and Greece. The band’s busy schedule demonstrates their commitment to reconnecting with their fans after such a long absence and bringing their music to audiences around the world.
