Andy Black, award-winning rocker, set to appear at Geek’d Con 2025 in Shreveport
Geek’d Con, Shreveport’s comic con, is making a triumphant return this August for its 10th anniversary celebration in Downtown Shreveport. Scheduled to take place at the Shreveport Convention Center from August 22nd to 24th, the event promises three days of entertainment and fun for attendees of all ages.
Geek’d Con offers a diverse range of activities for enthusiasts to enjoy. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and interact with celebrities, providing unique and memorable experiences. The event also boasts a plethora of vendor spaces offering a variety of collectibles, custom art, toys, vintage comics, and more for purchase. Panel discussions featuring stars sharing insights and stories about their work are another highlight, along with the spectacle of fans showcasing their elaborate cosplay ensembles throughout the weekend.
Tickets for the event are currently on sale, with vendor booths also available for interested participants.
This year’s edition of Geek’d Con has received a major boost with the announcement that Andy Black, the lead singer of Black Veil Brides, is set to make an appearance. Black Veil Brides gained prominence with the release of their debut album ‘We Stitch These Wounds’ in 2010, which peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hard Rock Charts. The band’s third album, ‘Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones,’ contained the hit song ‘In The End,’ which was a Platinum-selling track and won Revolver’s 2013 Golden Gods Award for Best New Song.
In addition to his musical achievements, Andy Black has made significant contributions to the world of entertainment. He has performed on various soundtracks, including “Unbroken” from the “Avengers Assemble” soundtrack and “Set the World on Fire” from the “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” soundtrack. Black has been recognized for his talent, earning a place on Revolver Magazine’s list of 100 Greatest Living Rock Stars and Kerrang!’s list of 50 Greatest Rock Stars in the World Today.
Beyond music, Andy Black has ventured into acting, appearing in the film “American Satan” and the subsequent streaming series “Paradise City” on Amazon. Notably, he voiced Batman for the DC Comics mini-series “Dark Nights: Death Metal,” a role that perfectly aligns with his passion for comic books and rock music.
Geek’d Con 2025 promises an exciting lineup of guests, including a 35th Anniversary “Shell-a-Bration” for the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Voice actors and martial artists associated with the iconic film franchise are slated to attend, adding to the event’s already impressive roster of talent.
