Sting’s 3.0 Tour Sparks Live Album and Record Store Day Release
British singer and songwriter, Sting, is reviving the energy of his ‘Sting 3.0’ World Tour with the upcoming release of a new live album. The album, titled STING 3.0 LIVE, is set to debut on April 25 in various formats, including digital, CD, and 180g vinyl. Fans in the US will also have the exclusive opportunity to grab a Record Store Day Deluxe Edition on April 12, featuring a two-disc vinyl set packed with live tracks and fan favorites.
This live album showcases Sting in a different light, featuring long-time collaborator Dominic Miller on guitar and Chris Maas on drums, known for his work with other artists like Mumford & Sons and Maggie Rogers. The stripped-down format of the album is a departure from his usual grand ensemble performances, reminiscent of his early days with The Police.
STING 3.0 LIVE comprises nine of Sting’s greatest hits, with a live rendition of “Be Still My Beating Heart,” a song he has never performed live before. The Record Store Day Deluxe Edition expands on the collection, offering 17 tracks, including rare live versions of songs like “I Wrote Your Name (Upon My Heart),” “Never Coming Home,” and the timeless classic “Can’t Stand Losing You.”
The album’s production was expertly handled by Martin Kierszenbaum, with Howard Page overseeing recording and Tony Lake contributing to additional engineering. Renowned mixer Robert “Hitmixer” Orton polished the tracks, and mastering was expertly done by Gene Grimaldi at Oasis Mastering.
As Sting continues his tour, he has recently added three new Florida dates, following a series of sold-out shows across North America. The setlist for the shows seamlessly blends Sting’s solo material with hits from The Police, creating an intimate three-piece band experience that fans have come to love.
Fans eager to catch Sting in person can already purchase tickets on Sting.com, with VIP packages offering exclusive perks such as premium seating and collectible merchandise.
