Elton John, a living music legend with over six decades in the industry, continues to showcase his musical genius. On a recent episode of the “Smartless” podcast, the iconic “Tiny Dancer” singer discussed his newest album titled “Who Believes In Angels?” which he collaborated on with folk sensation Brandi Carlile. Despite a storied career filled with accomplishments, Elton John expressed his pride in this album, calling it one of his most significant works.

In an interview with host Jason Bateman, the EGOT winner shared his enthusiasm for the project, acknowledging Carlile’s influence in inspiring him to create this record. John went as far as to proclaim that “Who Believes In Angels?” is his finest work in four decades. This collaboration stems from their previous work together on the title track for John’s 2024 music documentary “Elton John: Never Too Late,” a song titled “Never Too Late,” co-produced with Andrew Watt and written with his long-time collaborator Bernie Taupin.

Reflecting on the album’s title track and its meaning, John shared with The Associated Press that it was a reflection of his life journey, persevering through challenges and emerging resilient. Despite facing adversity, including a recent infection that left him blind in one eye, as revealed in a GMA interview, John expressed optimism about continuing his music career. The loss of vision temporarily halted his creative process, but during an appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” John assured fans that new music is on the horizon.

Critically acclaimed writer Maria Sherman from the Associated Press praised “Who Believes in Angels?” for showcasing the deepening artistic connection between John and Carlile. Sherma noted that while fans may crave more from John, this album exudes vitality and energy, a remarkable feat considering John’s recent farewell tour.

The 10-track project, “Who Believes in Angels?” is set to be released this Friday, featuring previously launched tracks like “Swing for the Fences,” “Never Too Late,” and “Who Believes in Angels?” As Elton John prepares to unveil this highly anticipated album, fans can expect a testament to his enduring creativity and musical prowess.
