Meet the new guest stars joining the cast of Doctor Who series 15

The Doctor Who Series 15 trailer introduced viewers to new companion Belinda Chandra, played by Varada Sethu, along with the confirmed return of cast members like Millie Gibson, Jemma Redgrave, Ruth Madeley, Bonnie Langford, and Anita Dobson. However, the guest stars joining the Doctor and Belinda for the upcoming eight-episode series have also been revealed.

Among the new guest stars, Kadiff Kirwan from Chewing Gum, Black Mirror, This Is Going to Hurt, and Slow Horses will feature in one of the episodes. Kirwan is excited about this “intergalactic gargantuan extravaganza” teased in the trailer. Freddie Fox, known for his roles in The Gentlemen, The Crown, The Great, Year of the Rabbit, and Slow Horses, will portray a villain described as “fearsome” and possessing demonic horns by showrunner Russell T Davies.

Christopher Chung, another Slow Horses cast member, plays character Cassio in an episode characterized by Davies as dark and tough. Rylan Clark, Mr. Showbiz famous for Big Brother and Gogglebox, will host the Intergalactic Song Contest in an episode penned by Juno Dawson. Evelyn Miller from Foundation and Gangs of London makes an appearance in the series opener, accompanied by shiny red robots.

Rose Ayling-Ellis, initially rumored to be the Doctor’s companion, joins the cast for an episode noted for its fright-inducing elements. World on Fire actor Jonah Hauer-King, possibly playing Ruby Sunday’s boyfriend, is also part of the series. Alan Cumming, returning after portraying King James I, lends his voice to the animated character Mr. Ring-a-Ding, who causes chaos for the Doctor and Belinda.

Additional guest stars include Ariyon Bakare, known for His Dark Materials and Carnival Row, Caoilfhionn Dunne from Britannia, and French actor Julie Dray among others. Archie Panjabi from The Good Wife and Snowpiercer takes on a villainous role in the series. Doctor Who season two, or series 15, is set to premiere on BBC One and iPlayer in the UK and Disney+ globally on April 12.

Fans can look forward to an exciting array of characters, adventures, and storylines in the upcoming season of Doctor Who, with a blend of new faces and familiar favorites adding to the magic of the beloved sci-fi series.
