Eureka Seven Anime Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Special Visual and Trailer Launch

Eureka Seven anime is commemorating its 20th anniversary with a special project, unveiling a unique visual and trailer to mark the occasion. Character designer Kenichi Yoshida created the new key visual, with the promotional video featuring the familiar opening theme “DAYS” by FLOW from the first season.

The anime initially premiered on April 17, 2005, captivating audiences and leading to various adaptations over the years. These adaptations include the 2009 film Eureka Seven: Pocket Full of Rainbows, the 2012 sequel Eureka Seven AO, and the Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution movie trilogy from 2017 to 2021. Now, after two decades since its inception, the franchise is gearing up to entertain fans with fresh anniversary initiatives and activities.

The cast members shared their sentiments on reaching this milestone. Yuko Sanpei, the voice behind protagonist Renton Thurston, reflected on the series’ enduring impact: “Eureka is undoubtedly my youth itself. To everyone who was Renton at that time. To everyone who looked up to Renton. To everyone who watched it, wondering what kind of anime this was. Thank you always for your great love for Eureka Seven. Let’s celebrate and have fun! Eureka! I love you! I CAN FLY!!”

Additionally, Kaori Nazuka, who has voiced Eureka since the show’s inception, expressed her gratitude for the past two decades and the significant role the series has played in her life: “Back then, I was 20 years old… 20 years since I was born until I met Eureka. And 20 years since I met Eureka… Over these past 20 years, I have seen so many things I never imagined. These 20 years of walking together, fighting together… When I look back, it’s all been happiness. I am truly grateful.”

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Eureka Seven will be available for unlimited streaming on various platforms in Japan starting April 1 at midnight. Additionally, from April 7, the series will also be broadcast on the Disney Channel for fans to enjoy.

Exciting events are also on the horizon. On March 23, a special stage event titled Eureka Seven 20th Anniversary Special Talk Show will be held at the Bandai Namco Group booth during AnimeJapan 2025. The event will feature appearances by Yuko Sanpei, Kaori Nazuka, and producer Masahiko Minami.

Furthermore, fans can look forward to a special collaboration at FLOW THE FESTIVAL 2025, an anisong rock festival organized by FLOW on June 14-15 in Kanagawa, Japan. Exclusive Eureka Seven-themed merchandise will be available for purchase at the event, with the product lineup set to be unveiled during the AnimeJapan 2025 talk show.

Eureka Seven, also known as Psalms of Planets Eureka Seven (Kokyoshihen Eureka Sebun), is a critically acclaimed 2005 Japanese anime series developed by BONES. Directed by Tomoki Kyoda and featuring character designs by Kenichi Yoshida, the 50-episode TV anime aired on MBS between April 2005 and April 2006.

In addition to the anime adaptations, the series boasts six manga adaptations, a light novel, and three video games. The enduring success of Eureka Seven has solidified its place in the hearts of fans worldwide, making it a memorable and cherished part of anime history.
