Silverbacks to perform at White Eagle in Worcester
The Silverbacks, Worcester’s rock veterans, made quite a memorable comeback during their last performance at the White Eagle. Their explosive set went on beyond curfew, leaving the audience in awe and gaining new fans from local colleges. The band, known as “The Delta Force of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” delivered a maximum R&B blitzkrieg that literally blew the roof off the venue.
With their upcoming show scheduled for March 22 at the White Eagle, the Silverbacks are gearing up to recreate the magic once again. Led by the dynamic duo of local guitar legend Cliff Goodwin and punk veteran Mike Lynch on vocals, the Silverbacks consist of seasoned musicians who are no strangers to the rock ‘n’ roll scene. This powerhouse lineup includes guitar ace Jimmy Perry, bassist Glenn DiTomasso, drummer Bill MacGillivray, and saxophonist Deric Dyer, who has shared the stage with legends like Tina Turner and Joe Cocker.
Goodwin and Lynch, who have been playing together since their teenage years, share a bond that transcends time. While Goodwin’s resume includes collaborations with the likes of Joe Cocker, Robert Palmer, and others, Lynch has made his mark with bands such as the Mighty Bel-Mars and the Lynch Mob. Their mutual respect and telepathic connection on stage make the Silverbacks a force to be reckoned with.
Following their last performance, Goodwin joked that it past his bedtime, but he is now rejuvenated and ready to rock once more. The news of Joe Cocker’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination has added an extra spring to his step, especially with Paul McCartney publicly supporting Cocker’s induction. It seems like good things are on the horizon for the Silverbacks and their dedicated fans.
As the Silverbacks gear up for their upcoming show, fans can expect a night of high-energy, no-holds-barred rock ‘n’ roll. With their signature blend of maximum R&B and infectious energy, the Silverbacks are set to deliver another unforgettable performance at the White Eagle. So mark your calendars for March 22 and get ready to witness the Delta Force of Rock ‘n’ Roll in action.
