The Black Keys bounce back with new album and tour following setbacks in 2024
eys played their first hometown gig in more than a decade at the Akron Civic Theatre in October. However, the free show was a private event for Stand With Crypto, leaving many local fans disappointed outside the venue doors.
Following these setbacks, the duo promised a comeback, but surprised fans with the announcement of an entirely new album and tour. Described as a personal project, the upcoming album “No Rain, No Flowers” is said to be the Black Keys’ most ambitious and adventurous work yet, blending together a diverse range of musical influences.
The Black Keys, comprised of drummer Patrick Carney and singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach, have had a tumultuous journey in recent years. Their last album, “Ohio Players,” released in 2024, faced criticism, leading to significant changes within the band. Their subsequent “International Players” arena tour failed to attract enough ticket sales, resulting in its cancellation.
In an attempt to bounce back from these challenges, the band is set to embark on the “No Rain, No Flowers Tour,” with a performance scheduled at Blossom Music Center on August 22. They will be joined by singer-songwriter-guitarist Gary Clark Jr. as the opening act for the show, adding an exciting dynamic to the event.
As part of their revitalization efforts, The Black Keys have also released a new single, “The Night Before,” which serves as the lively lead track from their upcoming 13th studio album. This project symbolizes a fresh start for the band, signaling a renewed sense of creativity and passion for their craft.
Fans can look forward to experiencing a reinvigorated version of The Black Keys, as they showcase their latest music and embark on a worldwide tour. Stay tuned for a chance to witness their evolving sound and renewed energy as they take the stage once again.
