Reckless Kelly to open for Lucinda Williams in Barcelona and Madrid
Reckless Kelly is set to open for Lucinda Williams at shows in Barcelona and Madrid as a guest band. Their latest album, “The Last Frontier,” was released last year following their previous work, “American Jackpot/American Girls.”
Since 1996, the American Red-Dirt band Reckless Kelly has been lighting up stages with their distinctive blend of rock and country music. Led by Idaho natives Willy and Cody Braun, the brothers are part of a rich musical legacy spanning three generations. Twenty-eight years ago, Willy and Cody moved to Austin, added drummer Jay Nazz to their core, and formed a band that would change the music history of Texas.
An integral part of the American music scene for almost three decades, the GRAMMY award-winning band has released 17 albums and was named Outlaw Group of the Year at the 2024 Ameripolitan Awards.
Not only are the Austin natives celebrating their 30th band anniversary this year, but they are also gearing up to mark the 20th anniversary of their album “Wicked Twisted Road” in 2025, and the 40th anniversary of their festival, The Braun Brothers Reunion, this summer.
Lucinda Williams will bring her tour to Barcelona on Thursday, June 19 at Sala Apolo, Vitoria on Friday, June 20 at the Azkena Rock Festival, and Madrid on Saturday, June 21 at La Riviera with her band.
The latest work from 71-year-old Lucinda Williams, “Sings The Beatles from Abbey Road,” is the seventh volume of her ‘Lu’s jukebox’ series of themed albums (previous ones were dedicated to Tom Petty, southern soul, Bob Dylan, 60s country, Christmas songs, and the Rolling Stones). Two exceptional guitarists, Doug Pettibone and Marc Ford, will accompany Williams on this tour.
