US music sensation Lizzo has hinted at new music in a recent social media video where she talks about “real love in real life”. This potential release would be her first since 2023, a tumultuous year where the artist faced legal challenges from former dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, who lodged various complaints, such as claims of sexual, religious, and racial harassment.

During the legal proceedings, the singer, known off-stage as Melissa Viviane Jefferson, vehemently denied the accusations, stating that they were “as unbelievable as they sound” and reaffirming her commitment to not have her positive impact overshadowed by the allegations. Her absence from the limelight sparked curiosity among fans about her musical return, especially after she was seen spray-painting the words “bye bitch” on a poster of her album cover Special on Valentine’s Day this year.

Lizzo’s most recent album, released in 2022, included the popular track “About Damn Time.” She also dropped the song “Pink” in 2023, featured on the Barbie movie soundtrack, along with a remix of the song “Special.” The recent video with the caption “Love in Real Life 2/28” showed Lizzo lying quietly on a car bonnet as bystanders passed by. In a voiceover, she expressed a desire for simpler times, away from the pressures of fame, emphasizing the importance of authentic love and connection.

In a Twitch conversation earlier this month, Lizzo disclosed her ongoing work on new music over the past two years, further fueling excitement among her supporters. This revelation comes after a turbulent period in 2023 where she faced additional allegations of mistreatment from stylist Asha Daniels while on tour. Despite a US judge dismissing these specific claims, Lizzo was still entangled in a legal ordeal. She addressed the situation in her first interview in December 2024, expressing dismay over the sexual harassment accusation and labeling the claims as “silly” and “ridiculous.”

Reflecting on the challenging experience, Lizzo shared on the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast, “The last year and a half, I needed time to process and grow as a person. I was literally living in my dream, and then the tour ended, and three dancers just completely blindsided me with a lawsuit.” Her lawyer, Ron Zambrano, clarified her legal standing amidst the ongoing lawsuit brought by the former dancers, reiterating Lizzo’s involvement in the harassment allegations suit.

Despite the legal battles and personal challenges, Lizzo appears poised for a musical resurgence with her teaser of upcoming work, hinting at a return to the industry and a fresh wave of creative output, possibly signaling a new chapter in her dynamic career. Fans eagerly anticipate her next steps as she navigates the complexities of fame and creativity while aiming to share her artistry and message of self-love with the world.
