Jonas Reingold is thrilled to announce the release of “Cosmic Love,” the first single from the upcoming album “Transmutation” by his solo project Karmakanic. This album, the first in over eight years for Karmakanic, features a lineup of prominent progressive rock figures, many of whom are showcased on the new single. The track features vocals by John Mitchell from Frost*, Lonely Robot, and Asia, drums by Craig Blundell from Steven Wilson, Steve Hackett, and Frost*, and lead guitar by Randy McStine from In Continuum and McStine & Minnemann.

Regarding the selection of “Cosmic Love” as the leading single from “Transmutation,” Reingold stated, “How do you choose a single for a prog album? You don’t. Some things aren’t meant to be overthought – just felt.” John Mitchell, who collaborated with Reingold on the album, expressed, “It was an absolute pleasure to work with Jonas. We’ve discussed collaborating a few times over the years, and we’ve become good friends. So, it was great to finally fly to Vienna and make it happen. I’m so happy with how it’s all turned out.”

Reingold likened the collaboration on the album to the prog equivalent of Barcelona FC, with iconic names like Steve Hackett (Genesis), Simon Phillips (The Who, Toto, Judas Priest), and Nick D’Virgilio (Spock’s Beard, Mr. Big, Big Big Train) adding their talents to the project. This showcases the high esteem in which Reingold is held by his peers in the music industry. “Transmutation” not only marks a new beginning for Karmakanic but also serves as a testament to the best in progressive rock.

Recorded across multiple locations including Nashville, Los Angeles, Germany, and Austria, the album production captures every detail for a stunning auditory experience, meticulously mixed by five-time Grammy award-winning mix engineer Chris Lord-Alge in his Los Angeles-based studio, MIX LA. Reingold emphasized his love for crafting uplifting tracks that celebrate the common bonds that connect us all, inviting listeners to embark on a journey through “Cosmic Love.”

“Transmutation” is set to release on March 7, 2025, and will be available in CD, Vinyl, and streaming formats. Released on Reingold Records, the album underscores the power of independent artistry. Pre-orders for the album can be made through specific channels in the UK and other territories.

Embracing a star-studded lineup of renowned musicians, “Transmutation” promises to be a remarkable addition to the progressive rock landscape. With its uplifting themes and stellar production values, the album is sure to captivate fans and critics alike upon its release.
