1 person dead and multiple injured as Vince Neil’s private plane goes off track in Scottsdale
Arizona Family has obtained footage showing the moment when a jet crashed into another aircraft on the runway at Scottsdale Airport. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon and resulted in a fatality, with at least one person losing their life. Rock star Vince Neil’s Learjet 35A was involved in the collision, although Neil himself was not on board at the time of the accident.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that Neil’s jet veered off the runway post-landing, crashing into a Gulfstream G-200 business jet parked at the airport. The collision was attributed to a failure of the left main landing gear during landing. Emergency responders found one person deceased upon their arrival at the scene.
Mötley Crüe, Neil’s band, issued a statement on Facebook confirming the pilot’s death and detailing the injuries sustained by Neil’s girlfriend, her friend, and the co-pilot. Despite the tragic event, the band expressed their sympathy for the affected individuals. Another musician, Bret Michaels, a friend of Neil, also conveyed his condolences via a social media post.
Several individuals were treated for injuries at a nearby hospital, while one person declined medical attention. Neil’s lawyer expressed gratitude for the efforts of first responders and extended thoughts and prayers to all those impacted by the incident. Neil, the lead vocalist of Mötley Crüe, was not present during the crash.
Footage obtained by Arizona Family revealed the intense moment of impact as the jets collided on the runway. Investigations by federal authorities revealed that there were four individuals onboard the Learjet and one person in the Gulfstream at the time of the accident. Jet Pros, the owner of the Gulfstream jet, expressed condolences to the affected families and assured cooperation with the ongoing investigation.
The Learjet, registered to Chromed in Hollywood, listed Neil as a principal agent and had arrived from Austin, according to flight tracking data. Scottsdale Airport remained closed for several hours following the crash before reopening late in the evening. The National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the incident to determine the cause of the collision.
An official statement from the city of Scottsdale expressed sorrow over the accident and offered condolences to those impacted. Mayor Lisa Borowsky thanked first responders for their prompt action and assured the community of ongoing updates as more information becomes available. The city emphasized its support for all those affected by the tragedy and pledged to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.
