A renowned classic rock ensemble is hitting the road for a tour following the release of their first album with the original core members in five decades. The Doobie Brothers shared the dates for their upcoming tour, which includes a stop at the Broadview Stage at SPAC in Saratoga Springs on August 18. The concert will kick off at 7 p.m. with the Coral Reefer Band, the backing group for the late Jimmy Buffett, opening the show. Tickets for the event will go on sale Friday, February 14, at 10 a.m. through Live Nation, but prices have not yet been disclosed. This performance marks the only appearance by the Doobie Brothers in Upstate New York this year, prompting fans to consider checking secondary ticketing platforms such as StubHub and Vivid Seats for availability.

The iconic Doobie Brothers are all set to release a brand-new album, titled “Walk This Road,” on June 6. The album will feature founding members Patrick Simmons and Tom Johnston, alongside Michael McDonald and John McFee. This marks the first time in several decades that McDonald, Simmons, and Johnston have collaborated on new music since the release of “Takin’ It to the Streets” back in 1975. Although Johnston departed from the group in 1977 and McDonald followed suit in 1982, they eventually reunited with the Doobie Brothers in subsequent years.

The Doobie Brothers have earned a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for their timeless hits such as “China Grove,” “Listen to the Music,” “Long Train Runnin’,” “Takin’ It to the Streets,” “Black Water,” and the Grammy-winning track “What a Fool Believes.” Their golden jubilee tour commenced in 2021 and displays no signs of tapering off. As 76-year-old Simmons humorously remarked back in 2022, “A lot of people will be like, ‘Oh god, you want to be out, die on the road?’ Well, why not? It’s as good as going anywhere else.”

Simmons further elaborated, “The dream of getting up there and rockin’ onstage, that was all kind of what we idealized as kids, and here we are, as old guys, still living it. And probably we’ll go down living it because that’s what we are.” The Doobie Brothers’ extensive tour schedule for 2025 includes stops in various cities such as Detroit, MI; Burgettstown, PA; Wantagh, NY; Boston, MA; Milwaukee, WI; and Toronto, ON, among others. Fans can look forward to experiencing the iconic band performing live on stage as they continue their musical journey.
