Seattle’s Dear to Embark on Australian Tour for New Album
thTriffid, Brisbane Australian band Dear Seattle is embarking on a nationwide tour in support of their latest album, TOY. The alt-rock indie quartet will kick off their tour in Perth this May before moving on to Melbourne, Adelaide, Newcastle, Sydney, and Brisbane. Joining them on tour will be Ohio punk rockers Heart Attack Man, Adelaide pop-punk duo TOWNS, and Melbourne indie-rock artist, LUCKY. The band expressed their excitement for the upcoming tour, stating that they have put in a tremendous amount of effort to make it the best one yet and push the boundaries of their previous performances.
TOY, released on January 17th, has been their most successful album to date, debuting at #4 on the ARIA Albums chart, marking their highest chart position in the band’s history. Produced by Fletcher Matthews, the album features hit singles such as “Counting Hours,” “Evergreen,” “idc,” “Nothing’s Stopping Me Now,” “Sungazer,” and “Say What You Want.” This album is a significant milestone for the band from the Northern Beaches, following their debut LP Don’t Let Go in 2019 and their second album, Someday, in 2022.
Dear Seattle first gained attention in 2013 with their EP Words Are Often Useless, followed by a self-titled EP in 2017.
