New Album Announcement: Japanese Breakfast’s For Melancholy Brunettes And Sad Women
Japanese Breakfast is back with some exciting news for their fans. They’ve announced their upcoming fourth album, “For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women),” which is set to release on March 21 through Dead Oceans. The album was produced by Blake Mills, and bandleader Michelle Zauner shared her feelings about the creation process, expressing that she felt a sense of exhilaration and danger, stating, “I was flying too close to the sun, and I realized if I kept going I was going to die.”
In addition to the album announcement, Japanese Breakfast has also dropped the first single from the album, titled “Orlando in Love,” which features lush, string arrangements. Fans can check out the lyric video for the single to get a taste of what’s to come on the album.
The band has also revealed a tour schedule following their appearance at Coachella. The tour includes North American shows in April, May, and June, a European and U.K. tour in June and July, and more North American dates scheduled for August and September. The tour will feature shows in various cities across the globe, giving fans plenty of opportunities to catch Japanese Breakfast live.
