Billy Idol releases new single ’77’ featuring Avril Lavigne

Legendary rocker Billy Idol is introducing his latest single “77,” featuring Avril Lavigne, which is part of his upcoming album ‘Dream Into It,’ slated for release on 25th April. This single comes with an animated video directed by Spencer Ramsey.

This album marks Idol’s return to new music after a hiatus of over a decade and is a collaborative effort with his longtime guitarist/co-writer Steve Stevens. ‘Dream Into It’ has been expertly produced by Tommy English, known for his work with artists like Kacey Musgraves, blink-182, BØRNS, and K. Flay. Notably, the album also includes contributions from Lavigne, Joan Jett, and Alison Mosshart from The Kills. In an exciting development, a documentary film titled ‘Billy Idol Should Be Dead’ is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on 10th June. Helmed by three-time Grammy-winner Jonas Åkerlund, this feature-length film delves into the life and career of Billy Idol. Through exclusive interviews with Idol, his family, peers, and collaborators, the documentary explores his evolution from a punk rocker to an iconic figure in rock ‘n’ roll. It sheds light on Idol’s journey from punk pioneer to global superstar, showcasing the challenges he faced over nearly fifty years in the industry. Fans will also be thrilled to learn that Idol is hitting the road once again with the ‘It’s a Nice Day To…Tour Again!’. Presented by Live Nation, this tour will kick off at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix on 30th April and includes a highly-anticipated show at the OVO Wembley Arena on Tuesday 24th June. This concert follows Billy’s appearance at the Forever Now Festival at The National Bowl, Milton Keynes, making it his only UK appearance in 2025.
