John Cafferty & Beaver Brown Band Releases First Studio Album in Almost 40 Years
In response to being let go by The Who after decades, drummer Zak Starkey has expressed his feelings. The Radio Hits of April 1969 brought sweet tunes to listeners during that time. 10cc has revealed their plans for the Ultimate Ultimate Greatest Hits Tour in 2025.
John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band have delighted fans with the release of their first studio album in almost 4 decades. Titled “Sound of Waves,” this album marks a significant milestone in their 50+ years as a band. Back in 1982, Cafferty was tasked with creating the soundtrack for the movie Eddie and the Cruisers, which went on to achieve cult status in the rock world. The movie’s theme song, “On the Dark Side,” sung by Cafferty, soared to the top of the charts, showcasing his unique voice. A second track from the soundtrack, “Tender Years,” also made its mark on the music scene.
The band has continued to tour extensively, with a special album release concert at the Cutting Room. Cafferty shared that it was Bruce Springsteen who inspired him to return to the studio after many years. The result is a collection of 13 original songs on Sound of Waves, which can be ordered online.
Throughout their career, Cafferty and his band have shared the stage with legends like Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger, and Jon Bon Jovi. Opening for iconic acts such as the Beach Boys and Foreigner, they have made their mark on the rock scene. Their track “Tough All Over” from their 1985 album of the same name topped the rock charts, solidifying their place in music history.
The band’s Greatest Hits album, released in 2022, showcases their timeless appeal. With two original members still part of the lineup, John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band continue to captivate audiences with their music. Don’t miss the chance to catch them on tour, including upcoming dates with Rick Springfield on the “I Want My 80s” tour. Tickets are available online for these shows and more.
