LCD Soundsystem and TV On The Radio to Co-Headline Summer Tour
LCD Soundsystem has recently made fans ecstatic by announcing new summer tour dates. Following their ongoing spring tour, the talented electronica octet led by James Murphy is set to play a series of 15 shows across the Midwest, West Coast, and Mountain states from August 7 to 23. This revelation has stirred anticipation among followers, as it comes on the heels of the band’s last studio album, “American Dream,” released in 2017.
Before embarking on their US summer tour, LCD Soundsystem will wrap up their spring tour, scheduled until May 4, and headline at various iconic venues around Europe, including a remarkable eight-show residency at London’s O2 Academy Brixton from June 12-22. The band will kick off their American tour at Seattle’s Remlinger Farms on August 7 and 8, with support from the renowned TV On The Radio.
A back-to-back performance by the bands will follow at Bend, Oregon’s Hayden Homes Amphitheater on August 9 and 10 before they part ways briefly. LCD Soundsystem will then proceed with a solo performance in Salt Lake City, only to reunite for a show at Morrison, Colorado’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre on August 13. As the tour progresses, the band will make stops in Milwaukee, Columbus, Ohio, St. Louis, Detroit, and finally conclude with a performance at Toronto, Ontario’s HISTORY on August 22 and 23. Additionally, their busy schedule includes a joint appearance with Pulp at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on September 25 and 26.
The band’s latest single, “X-Ray Eyes,” which premiered in October 2024 on NTS Radio, marked a significant milestone for LCD Soundsystem. The track, characterized by a techy, minimal production overlaid with a proto-Detroit backbeat, hinted at a forthcoming album, stirring excitement among fans. While speaking about the single, band lead James Murphy acknowledged that it could be a preview of the band’s new album, emphasizing that they are diligently working on creating new music to share with their supporters.
