Salad season is back!
Liverpool punk band AERIAL SALAD has returned with a fresh music video for their latest track ‘L.A.’ The song is part of their upcoming 12″ EP Roi de l’herb, a follow-up to their well-received album R.O.I. Lead singer and guitarist Jamie Munro describes the track as a departure from their usual style, showcasing a rare romantic side with lyrics delving into love and intimacy with a slightly dark twist. The band playfully refers to themselves as a ‘Madchester punk band,’ drawing inspiration from bands like the Happy Mondays and the Stone Roses as well as modern acts like Title Fight and Shame, blending different genres into a unique sound. Munro likens their style to that of the Happy Mondays’ chaotic energy, showcasing a mix of profound emotion and lightheartedness in their music.
The music video for ‘L.A.’ is deliberately surreal, echoing the frantic and powerful emotions conveyed in the song’s lyrics. The imagery of a bloody figure running serves as a visual representation of the lyric “I could crawl inside your beating heart,” emphasizing the intense and provocative nature of the track. The EP Roi de l’herb is scheduled for release on June 27 through Venn Records, and fans can already pre-order the record.
In line with the EP’s title, AERIAL SALAD will be embarking on a tour across France and Spain starting next month, before returning to the UK for a series of live shows in June, including several festival appearances.
