Craig Morrison’s annual Roots of Rock & Roll Concert, now in its 25th year, is back with a captivating new theme: R.E.S.P.E.C.T. – Tribute to Ladies in Music. This year’s event will celebrate the iconic songs and contributions of leading female artists in the music industry. The title of the concert draws inspiration from the legendary track “Respect,” originally penned by Otis Redding but immortalized by Aretha Franklin, becoming an emblem of empowerment and respect for women and everyone alike.

Audiences can expect to hear a diverse selection of hits from prominent female artists such as Carole King, Bessie Smith, Dolly Parton, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Patsy Cline, and many more. The concert will feature classics made famous by female vocalists, including the Carpenters, Labelle, the Ronettes, and Cyndi Lauper. With a lineup of beloved songs spanning different genres and eras, the event promises an unforgettable musical experience.

The concert, known for its high demand and sold-out shows, will take place at the prestigious Oscar Peterson Concert Hall located at Concordia University’s Loyola campus in NDG. Scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at 3 pm, the venue provides a picturesque backdrop for an afternoon of musical delight.
