WU LYF debuts new song after 13-year hiatus: ‘A New Life is Coming’

WU LYF, the acclaimed Manchester band, has made a long-awaited comeback with the release of their first song in 13 years, titled ‘A New Life is Coming’. The song was officially released after being streamed on their website on April 1st. ‘A New Life is Coming’ marks their return after their breakup, which was accompanied by the release of their final song, ‘Triumph’. The band’s debut album, ‘Go Tell Fire To The Mountain’, released in 2011, is considered a classic of its time and has since been removed from streaming platforms, but is available on Bandcamp.

Known for their unique sound characterized by near-intelligible howling vocals, organ, clean indie guitar, and crashing drums, WU LYF has a distinct musical style reminiscent of Wolf Parade and Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s post-rock atmospherics. The new song retains some of the band’s signature elements while showcasing a more straightforward vocal approach.

WU LYF has already announced four European festival dates and some upcoming UK performances at Salford’s Kings Arms from April 17th to 19th, with the possibility of more shows in the future.
