Kiss the Tiger, a rock band based in Minneapolis, is known for spreading joy through their energetic performances. Led by frontwoman Meghan Kreidler, their dynamic stage presence captivates audiences, inspiring singing and dancing with glee. As the band has evolved over the past decade, starting as a small project between Kreidler and her husband Michael Anderson, they have expanded into a six-person group, refining their powerful rock sound along the way.

Initially defining themselves as a rock band dedicated to the core values of rock and roll, Kiss the Tiger has since embraced a more expansive musical approach while still honoring their roots. Kreidler highlights their growth, stating, “From the beginning, we were kind of like, ‘We’re a rock band, we’re just gonna do rock and roll.’ And it’s really grown into something more than that and bigger than that, but definitely with rock and roll at the core.”

In the span of nearly two years, Kiss the Tiger has undergone significant changes and accomplishments. The addition of Isabella Dawis on keys and vocals transformed the band from a five-member ensemble to a six-member powerhouse. Their presence on “Studio 3 LIVE,” a program on Iowa PBS that showcases musical performances and interviews, in fall 2024 marked a milestone for the group. Transitioning from live shows to television appearances presented a new challenge, but Kiss the Tiger’s infectious energy transcended the screen, maintaining their signature rawness and authenticity.

Reflecting on their experiences, Kreidler acknowledges the contrast between performing on television and in traditional venues. She notes that the polished nature of television requires a certain finesse, a departure from the rawness of live performances. Despite the difference in presentation, Kiss the Tiger’s essence remained intact, resonating with audiences regardless of the platform.

As the band prepares to release a new album later this year, their dedication to spreading joy through rock and roll remains unwavering.
