Pop-punk band to release their first album in 13 years
After a 13-year hiatus, pop-punk band The All-American Rejects are gearing up for the release of their highly-anticipated fifth studio album. The band recently took to Instagram to announce the upcoming release of their lead single, “Sandbox,” which is scheduled to drop on April 24th. Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from the group, and their patience is finally being rewarded.
While the title and release date of the album have not yet been unveiled, this forthcoming record will mark the band’s first full-length album since the release of “Kids in the Street” back in 2012. Over the past decade, The All-American Rejects released several singles, including hits like “Sweat” in 2017, “Send Her to Heaven” in 2019, and a cover of “Flagpole Sitta” by Harvey Danger in the previous year.
Having returned to the touring circuit in 2023 following their decade-long hiatus, The All-American Rejects are back with a vengeance. With a string of chart-topping hits from the 2000s, including tracks like “Gives You Hell,” “Move Along,” “Dirty Little Secret,” “It Ends Tonight,” and “Swing, Swing,” the band is sure to please fans old and new with their latest material.
In a recent interview with Paper magazine, lead vocalist and bassist Tyson Ritter shed light on the band’s creative process for the new album. Ritter, alongside guitarist Nick Wheeler, explained that crafting new music required overcoming various challenges, including fears that fans may not be receptive to fresh material. However, the band is determined to explore a different sound that resonates with both loyal followers and a broader audience.
“People say they want new music from certain bands, but they don’t necessarily want stuff that sounds exactly like the stuff we already gave them and nostalgic feels… they already have that,” Wheeler stated. “If we’re going to do something, we’re going to do something different that hopefully resonates with them, as well as a new audience.”
Excitement is mounting as The All-American Rejects gear up for their upcoming performances at the Warped Tour and their opening set for the Jonas Brothers at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo on November 9th. Tickets for these shows are currently available for purchase via Ticketmaster, Vivid Seats, and StubHub, promising fans an unforgettable live experience.
As fans eagerly await the release of The All-American Rejects’ new album, this pop-punk powerhouse is poised to make a triumphant return to the music scene after more than a decade. With a renewed sense of creativity and passion, the band is set to deliver an album that pushes boundaries and captivates audiences worldwide.
