Average: An Ethereal Folk Rock Adventure in the Appalachian Mountains
Faith Kelly, a native of Duncannon, Pennsylvania, is set to release her third solo album, Halfway Decent, on April 1. The album is a unique blend of spacey folk rock’n’roll with psychedelic Appalachian influences. Produced by Eamon Lebow and mastered by Greg Castro, Halfway Decent is a DIY project that reflects Kelly’s personal and musical journey.
The songs on Halfway Decent touch upon themes of change, life on the road, and the diverse people encountered along the way. Some tracks have a traditional singer-songwriter feel, while others incorporate krautrock elements, showcasing the range of Kelly’s musical influences. In a nod to a personal experience, the album’s title, Halfway Decent, stems from Kelly’s mechanic using the term to describe fixing her car after an accident caused by a drunk driver during a tour.
Together with fellow musician Caswyn Moon, Faith Kelly is embarking on their 9th tour together since they first hit the road in 2022. Describing themselves as wanderers who traverse the country sharing their music, Kelly and Moon also regularly perform and host events in the Catskills mountains of New York when not touring. Both artists present their original music in a blend of American rock with country undertones and spacey folk rock’n’roll with Appalachian twists, creating a dynamic and engaging live experience for audiences.
