Linkin Park hints at deluxe edition of latest album with new track
Linkin Park has unveiled a new single from their latest album, From Zero, which will be part of an upcoming deluxe edition. Titled “Up From The Bottom,” this track was crafted while the band was on tour for their debut album with new lead singer Emily Armstrong, who took over from founding member Chester Bennington after his tragic passing in 2017.
Incorporating elements from their classic late 2000s and early 2010s style, the new single showcases the band’s signature powerful drums and guitar riffs, highlighted by Mike Shinoda’s rap verses and Armstrong’s passionate vocals. The song also features additional elements like turntable scratches and 808s during its climax, adding a fresh touch to Linkin Park’s sound.
Their album From Zero made a successful comeback, earning them the title of Rock Album of the Year at the recent iHeartRadio Music Awards. The lead single, “The Emptiness Machine,” topped Billboard’s Rock & Alternative Airplay Chart for an impressive 15 weeks, solidifying their return to the music scene.
Reflecting on their reemergence, Shinoda expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from fans, stating, “This new chapter, our continuing journey, and the connection between the band and fans has been more than we could’ve hoped for.” He also shared insights into the band’s reunion, revealing that instead of trying to start over, they chose to collaborate with various musicians and eventually found a strong bond with Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain.
Shinoda shed light on the concept behind their latest work, explaining that the album’s title, From Zero, pays homage to their humble beginnings as a band. It represents their musical evolution, blending elements from the past, present, and future to create a sound that stays true to their signature style while infusing new energy and vitality into their music.
Linkin Park embarked on a massive world tour in support of the album, with their final show scheduled in Brazil on November 11. The tour took them across four continents and saw them perform in iconic arenas like Wembley Stadium in London, Stade de France in Paris, and Boston’s TD Garden.
Fans can look forward to the deluxe edition of From Zero, set to be released on May 16th, which will feature two new tracks, “Let You Fade” and “Unshatter,” along with five live recordings from their recent tour. “Up From The Bottom” is now available via Warner Records, giving listeners a taste of what’s to come from Linkin Park’s groundbreaking musical journey.
