A renowned rock band that emerged in the 1990s is gearing up to launch their first new album in nearly a decade. Brandon Boyd, the lead singer of Incubus, disclosed in an interview with German publication Flux FM, conveyed through ThePRP, that the band’s ninth studio album was finalized just over two months ago. This release will follow their 2017 album “8.” Boyd mentioned that the album has been mastered, mixed, and is all set for release. He also stated that the album creation process was unusually quick, indicating a positive outcome. The rapid completion of the album signifies that the band found a creative flow during the recording process.

Boyd anticipates the album’s release in October, with a single scheduled to drop prior to that. The title of the album has not yet been divulged. During the interview, Boyd expressed his satisfaction with the album, claiming it to be a remarkable piece of work that the entire band is proud of. The recording process was described as a joyful experience for everyone involved. Notably, Brendan O’Brien produced Incubus’ upcoming album. O’Brien has previously worked with the band on their albums such as “…A Crow Left of the Murder” in 2004 and “Light Grenades” in 2006.

Apart from marking Incubus’ first album release in eight years, this project will also introduce bassist Nicole Row’s first contribution to the band’s music. Row joined as a touring member in March 2023, filling the void left by former bassist Ben Kenney who departed from the group in 2023 due to health reasons. Subsequently, Row officially became a full-fledged member of the band in February 2024. Boyd shared his enthusiasm for Row’s seamless integration into the band, noting her remarkable contribution to their music.

Incubus, an alternative rock/funk-metal band established in 1991, boasts multiple gold and platinum records and is recognized for hits like “Drive,” “Wish You Were Here,” “Stellar,” “Nice to Know You,” “Anna Molly,” and “Pardon Me.” The band has a lineup of upcoming performances, including an upcoming show at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Tickets for their shows can be purchased through authorized third-party sellers like StubHub and Vivid Seats. This long-awaited album release promises to be a significant event for Incubus fans, offering a fresh sound with the addition of bassist Nicole Row to the band’s roster.
