A popular South West music festival has unfortunately been cancelled, disappointing many eager fans. Let’s Rock, a one-day retro extravaganza scheduled to take place at Powderham Castle in Devon this June, has made the difficult decision to call off the event. In a statement released on social media, Let’s Rock Exeter expressed their regret, stating, “We are very sorry to say that we are not able to continue with our plans to stage a Let’s Rock in Exeter this year.” The organizers emphasized the gravity of their decision, assuring ticket holders that refunds would be issued automatically within seven working days. The Let’s Rock team signed off with best wishes for their supporters.

Understandably, the festival-goers have expressed their disappointment and sadness across various comment sections. One individual lamented, “That’s gutting so much for being better than ever.” Others echoed similar sentiments, with comments such as “End of an era” and “That’s a massive shame” flooding in. The uncertainty surrounding the current state of affairs with festivals was also acknowledged, with a fan speculating, “Surprised because it’s always really busy but not surprised because of the state of affairs regarding festivals currently. Hopefully it’ll be back bigger and stronger next year.” Another devastated supporter expressed, “Absolutely gutted. I think this is it isn’t it? Thank you to the team for the last ten years and through coronavirus. Covid for everything. Xxx.”

Originally planned to feature a lineup including UK super-group Squeeze as headliners, along with ’80s icons like Matt Goss from Bros and pop sensation Kim Wilde, the festival aimed to provide a nostalgic experience for attendees. Despite the cancellation in Exeter, tickets for other Let’s Rock events in Leeds, Northampton, Shrewsbury, and Southampton are still available for purchase, offering fans alternate opportunities to enjoy live music in a festival setting. The anticipated grand day out at Powderham Castle on June 28, starting from midday and running until half-past ten in the evening, would have been a memorable experience for all who attended.

In light of the unfortunate news, fans of Let’s Rock are left to reflect on the excitement and joy that the festival has brought over the years. While the cancellation is undoubtedly disappointing, the hope remains that future events will return even bigger and better, providing a platform for music lovers to come together and celebrate their favorite tunes in a lively and inclusive atmosphere. The Let’s Rock team’s dedication to their supporters has not gone unnoticed, as fans express gratitude for the efforts put forth in organizing the festival in challenging times.
