Night Ranger, the iconic 80’s rock band, is set to make a return to Sioux Falls this spring. Their performance is scheduled for Friday, May 23rd at the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance as part of the Miles and Lisa Beacom Concert Series.

Formed in 1979 in San Francisco after the dissolution of the Rubicon band, Night Ranger consists of bassist Jack Blades, drummer Kelly Keagy, and guitarist Brad Gillis who transitioned from the Rubicon and later welcomed keyboardist Alan Fitzgerald and guitarist Jeff Watson in 1980. Originally named Stereo, the band was briefly known as ‘Ranger’ before changing to ‘Night Ranger’ in 1982 due to the naming conflict with another group called ‘The Rangers’.

Their debut album, Dawn Patrol, was released in November 1982, achieving a spot in the Top 40 (#38) and producing their first Top 40 single on the Billboard Hot 100, ‘Don’t Tell Me You Love Me’ (#40). This song also reached the Top Five on the Billboard Rock Chart (#4). Night Ranger’s subsequent albums, Midnight Madness (1983) and 7 Wishes (1985), both achieved platinum status in sales.

Over the years, the band continued to entertain fans with five additional Top 40 pop chart hits and two more Top Five rock chart hits. Their most notable track, ‘Sister Christian’ (1984), became their standout hit, peaking at number five on the pop chart and number two on the rock chart. Notably, ‘Sister Christian’ was their only single to reach number one on the Canadian Chart in July 1984.

Night Ranger released their 12th studio album, ATBPO, in August 2021, demonstrating their enduring musical talent and creative output. The band’s lineup currently includes original members Blades, Keagy, and Gillis, accompanied by keyboardist Eric Levy and guitarist Keri Kelli.

Fans eagerly anticipating the Sioux Falls show can purchase tickets starting Friday, March 24 at 10:00 AM. The upcoming concert promises to be a memorable experience for devoted Night Ranger enthusiasts and rock music enthusiasts alike. Don’t miss the chance to see these legendary rockers in action once again as they bring their timeless hits to the stage.
