Demi Lovato Requests ChatGPT to Roast Her, Receives Harsh Responses
Demi Lovato recently took to TikTok to subject herself to a brutal roasting session by none other than an artificial intelligence chatbot named ChatGPT. In a video posted on March 15, the Grammy-nominated artist, who is 32 years of age and prefers she/they pronouns, enlisted her fiancé, Jordan “Jutes” Lutes, to read out the scathing results.
As Jutes began reading the roast, he quipped, “Roast Demi Lovato? Oh, you mean the artist formerly known as ‘Confident’ but now more like confused?” This remark cleverly referenced Lovato’s 2015 hit “Confident.” The roast did not stop there, diving into Lovato’s evolving public image, likening it to the frequent rebrands seen in failing fast food chains.
ChatGPT hilariously pointed out Lovato’s tendency to switch between music genres at the drop of a hat. The AI chatbot even playfully jabbed at Lovato’s spat with a frozen yogurt shop, referencing the controversy that arose in 2021 after Lovato criticized the establishment for their sugar-free and “diet food” offerings. Lovato later clarified her stance, explaining that her message was misconstrued.
The roast continued with Jutes teasing Lovato about her vacillation between musical styles, urging her to “pick a lane or at least a consistent genre.” Throughout her career, Lovato has experimented with various musical genres, including pop, rock, R&B, and dance music. ChatGPT’s roast humorously implied that Lovato’s career trajectory resembles throwing darts blindfolded at a vision board.
Despite the biting criticism, the AI chatbot grudgingly acknowledged Lovato’s undeniable vocal talent, noting, “But hey, credit where credit is due, Demi’s voice is undeniable. If only their decision-making skills were as strong as their vocal cords.” The roast concluded with a rare compliment to the singer, highlighting her exceptional vocal abilities.
Throughout the video, Lovato reacted to the jabs with laughter and amusement, only momentarily asking the camera, “So you think I’m a good singer?” The singer-songwriter and Jutes have been romantically involved since August 2022 and got engaged in December 2023. Lovato publicly shared her excitement about marrying Jutes on Valentine’s Day this year, emphasizing her eagerness to tie the knot with her beloved partner.
