Bryan Ferry, the iconic frontman of Roxy Music, has joined forces with performance artist, writer, and painter, Amelia Barratt, for a unique art rock project called Loose Talk. Scheduled for release on March 28 under Dene Jesmond Enterprises, the album marks Ferry’s first venture into creating music for another writer’s words. A music video for the album’s title track, featuring Roxy Music drummer Paul Thompson, has recently been unveiled by the duo.

Ferry expressed his excitement about the creative process behind Loose Talk, stating that it has brought a fresh perspective to his work. He emphasized the need to preserve the essence of Barratt’s words without overshadowing them with his music. The collaboration has resulted in a cohesive and innovative project that neither artist could have achieved individually.

Reflecting on his past work with Roxy Music, Ferry drew parallels between Loose Talk and tracks like “In Every Dream Home A Heartache” and “Mother Of Pearl,” which incorporated spoken monologues. He emphasized his commitment to creating art that is distinct and original, pushing boundaries to deliver a unique and unfamiliar experience to listeners.

Barratt chimed in on the collaborative nature of Loose Talk, describing it as a dynamic exchange between two artists. The album combines Ferry’s music with Barratt’s spoken texts to create a cinematic and visually evocative experience. Each track serves as a canvas for experimentation, offering a structured framework within which creative ideas can flourish. Barratt highlighted the sense of freedom that comes with knowing her role in the project and being able to pass the creative baton back and forth with Ferry.

Loose Talk will be available in various formats, including digital, CD, and three vinyl editions – black, green, and clear. The tracklist for the album is as follows:
