Takanori Nishikawa to sing opening theme for new film – MP3s & NPCs
A new preview for the upcoming anime series “From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman” has been released. The preview introduces the opening theme song for the show, titled “HEROES,” which will be performed by Takanori Nishikawa. Nishikawa, known for his work on soundtracks for popular anime series like Rurouni Kenshin and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, expressed his excitement about contributing to this project.
In a statement, Nishikawa shared his enthusiasm for being a part of the anime by stating, “I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be performing the opening theme song for the upcoming TV anime, ‘From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman’! Over the years, I’ve been building my career, and it’s amazing to see how my music has influenced and inspired others to start their own journeys.”
The artist also revealed that he will be collaborating with Oki, the guitarist from Novelbright, on this project. Nishikawa spoke highly of Oki, mentioning, “His energy and style felt like the perfect match for the theme of this anime, so I asked him to join in this collaboration.”
Nishikawa expressed his hopes that the song “HEROES” would resonate with viewers and capture the spirit of the anime, building anticipation for its premiere. The opening theme, along with the show itself, is set to launch in April.
Moreover, NBCUniversal Japan is planning a special panel at AnimeJapan 2025 for “From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman.” The panel will feature voice actors from the series, such as Hiroaki Hirata, Nao Toyama, Hitomi Ueda, Yuuki Hirose, Hinaki Yano, and ED artist band FLOW. This panel is scheduled to take place on March 23 at 4:00 PM JST.
Japanese residents will also have the exclusive opportunity to attend a world premiere event screening the first two episodes of the anime on March 30 at KABUKICHO TOWER STAGE in Kabukicho Cine City Square. The event will include appearances from the voice actors and artists involved in the show, promising an exciting experience for attendees.
“From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman” is slated to debut on April 6 on Prime Video, offering fans the chance to immerse themselves in this captivating new anime series.
