The artist from Ann Arbor discusses her new collection of rock and alt-folk music for Local Spins, which debuted fresh tracks from Bob James, Ashley Kay, The War and Treaty, Ohly, and more talented musicians.

Elisabeth Pixley-Fink’s latest studio album, “Heartskin,” is a reflective journey inspired by themes of vulnerability and imperfection. Pixley-Fink delves into the meaning behind the title, “Heartskin,” explaining that it symbolizes introspection on past actions, moments of protection, and a willingness to reveal oneself. Collaborating with Detroit’s John Hanson for production, Pixley-Fink presents 12 moving and relatable songs with the contributions of various Michigan musicians.
