Dutch emo/pop punk band Bony Macaroni released the title track from their upcoming album, Death Drive, with an accompanying music video that matches the song’s high energy. The band also announced a club tour across The Netherlands, which will commence later in the year.

Their second album, Death Drive, set to drop on August 29, 2025, via Germany’s Redfield Records, is a significant progression from their debut album, The Big Bucks, released in 2021. The new single, available for streaming now, showcases a more intense and unfiltered sound compared to their earlier work. Vocalist Stefan expresses his feelings of living in a time characterized by what feels like a collective death drive, with bad vibes and good drugs playing a significant role in the album’s theme.

Produced by American musician Billy Manino, known for his work with Macseal and Oso Oso, Death Drive sees Bony Macaroni exploring a more indie sound while still staying true to their emo roots. The single features catchy pop-punk riffs paired with lyrics that reflect the chaotic nature of modern life, even if it comes with a sting.

While their debut album focused on themes of economic dread and coming-of-age, Death Drive takes a different approach, offering a snapshot of life in one’s 20s during the 2020s. The album does not have a clear narrative arc or a hopeful climax, instead providing a raw and honest portrayal of the struggles faced in today’s society.

Over the next few months, the band plans to release several more singles leading up to the album launch, including “Bubble Boy” on April 25, “Dumb (So Stupid)” on June 6, “The Ends of the Earth” on July 18, and the album’s focus track, “The Rotting 20s,” to coincide with the full release.

Bony Macaroni’s latest work promises to be a bold and unapologetic exploration of the challenges and experiences of young adulthood in the modern era. With a sound that blends pop-punk with indie influences and lyrics that reflect the messiness of life, Death Drive is set to make a powerful statement in the music scene. Fans of the band can look forward to a dynamic and energetic album that captures the essence of growing up in a tumultuous world.
