Canadian punk icons, PROPAGANDHI, have treated fans to a fresh lyric video for their latest song, ‘At Peace’. This track serves as the centerpiece of the Manitoba four-piece’s upcoming album, marking their return after an eight-year break following 2017’s ‘Victory Lap’. The band’s politically-driven punk ethos is more relevant now than ever, with ‘At Peace’ capturing the essence of their perspective during the lead-up to Trump’s potential second term. Lead guitarist and vocalist, Chris Hannah, emphasized that the thematic content of their music remains consistent with the band’s inception in the early 90s, but with a heightened sense of disillusionment. He reflects on the transition from their early work filled with hope and optimism to the current state of existential dread in a society on the brink of collapse.

The band’s upcoming album, ‘At Peace’, is scheduled for release on May 2nd through Epitaph Records and is available for pre-order. Despite their extensive tour schedule, the band will not be making an appearance in the UK. However, fans can catch them on their tour dates in various locations across Europe. Some of the notable dates include stops in Barcelona, Milan, Vienna, Amsterdam, and Berlin.

In his reflection on their music, Chris Hannah acknowledges a shift in tone from their early days where there was a sense of impending change fueled by a belief in mass social movements against oppressive systems. He notes the waning optimism present in their current work, expressing skepticism about the prospects of significant social change in the face of entrenched power structures. Despite this, he maintains a glimmer of hope for a possible shift in societal attitudes, although unsure of its realization.

PROPAGANDHI’s unwavering commitment to using their platform to address social and political issues has endeared them to fans for decades. Their fierce advocacy for social justice and challenging the status quo remains a driving force behind their music. Through ‘At Peace’ and their other works, the band continues to spark conversations, provoke thought, and inspire action among their listeners.

As the band gears up for their album release and subsequent tour, fans eagerly anticipate the opportunity to experience their intense energy and thought-provoking lyrics live on stage. Despite the challenges presented by the current social and political climate, PROPAGANDHI’s music serves as a poignant reminder of the power of punk rock to confront injustice and inspire change.
