treated to performances by Alicia Keys, Michael McDonald, Peter Frampton, Beck, Mavis Staples, Phish’s Trey Anastasio, Kate Hudson, The Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart, Black Pumas’ Eric Burton, Grace Bowers, Jesse Malin, and Luke Spiller.

Alicia Keys kicked off the night with an emotional rendition of Roberta Flack’s classic hit, “Killing Me Softly with His Song,” paying tribute to Flack who passed away in February at the age of 88 after battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) since 2022. The concert concluded with a rousing sing-along performance of Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground,” featuring almost all the performers, including Cher, taking the stage for an unforgettable finale.

While Cher and Elvis Presley never collaborated or performed together, Cher did reveal on a talk show that she turned down a date request from the King due to feeling shy and nervous about his reputation and the people surrounding him. Cher maintained her admiration for Elvis but cited her shyness around men as the reason for declining the invitation.

The Love Rocks NYC concert, now in its 9th year, supports the nonprofit organization God’s Love We Deliver, which serves over 14,000 New Yorkers with specialized meals and nutrition services, originally established during the height of the AIDS crisis in 1985. This year’s concert also extended its support to Project Angel Food, a Los Angeles-based organization affiliated with the Food Is Medicine Coalition, in response to the recent wildfires in the city.

With a lineup of renowned performers such as Alicia Keys, Michael McDonald, and Peter Frampton among others, Love Rocks NYC 2025 was hosted by Alex Edelman, Amy Schumer, Susie Essman, and Tracy Morgan. Cher’s captivating performance dressed as Elvis Presley delighted the audience and added a touch of nostalgia to the charity concert event.

Cher, known for hits like “If I Could Turn Back Time,” entertained the crowd with renditions of “Walking in Memphis,” “(This Is) A Song for the Lonely,” and her iconic “Believe” during her set at Love Rocks NYC. Changing outfits for each performance, Cher’s Elvis impersonation for “Walking in Memphis” was a highlight of the evening, showcasing her versatility as a performer.

In conclusion, Love Rocks NYC 2025 featured a star-studded lineup of musicians and performers supporting a noble cause while providing the audience with unforgettable performances and moments. Cher’s homage to Elvis Presley added a unique flair to the event, making it a memorable night of music and philanthropy.
