Punk group TDA, known as titsdickass, has launched their latest LP titled ‘F*ck,’ which serves as a direct challenge to the prevalent issues of sexism, misogyny, and transphobia in society.

In the making of their album ‘F*ck,’ TDA aimed to carve out a space for expressing feminine rage within the realm of rock music that carries an essence of danger. Julia Pierce, one of the band members, delved into her Basque heritage while crafting songs for the album to pay tribute to the women who faced persecution during the Basque witch trials in the early 1600s.

The band’s musical style is an eclectic blend, drawing influence from the dissonant punk and no-wave sound of Sonic Youth, the ominous bass lines reminiscent of Joy Division, and the raw, tumultuous vocals that could be likened to Kurt Cobain’s presence at a Nirvana basement show in Hell. TDA’s sound propels the listeners on an avant-garde journey, evoking the punk energy that first emerged in New York and later infiltrated London during the late 1970s. The urgency and fervor with which TDA delivers their sonic assault reflect the harsh realities of living in a world plagued by sexism, misogyny, and transphobia.

Julia, a trans woman, drew inspiration from feminist literature such as “Whipping Girl” by Julia Serano, “The Feminist Troubadour” by Meg Bogin, and the Lilith and Pan mythology. The band’s genuine appreciation for speaker-shredding records and outsider art punk bands sets them apart, having shared stages with Subhumans (UK), Sick Thoughts (Goner Records), Lust Sick Puppy, Faux Real, Die Spitz, and The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black.

The message behind TDA’s album ‘F*ck’ is a bold statement that challenges the prevalent societal issues of sexism, misogyny, and transphobia. Do you dare to embark on this sonic journey by giving their latest LP a spin?
