Holiday park in South Ayrshire announces new plans after fire incident
A planning application has been submitted aiming at rejuvenating a holiday park in South Ayrshire that suffered damages due to a fire. Bennane Shore Holiday Park near Lendalfoot, which offers a spa facility, bistro, and private residency for park owners along with being accessible to both members and the general public, was affected by a fire in autumn 2023.
The proposed plans include creating a new entrance and reception area to provide a more welcoming and modern space for visitors. In addition to this, modifications to the facilities building are planned, such as developing an outdoor dining area adjacent to the bistro with an awning, allowing for flexible open and closed spaces that overlook Ailsa Craig.
Enhancements also involve establishing an outdoor spa relaxation area within a partially enclosed decked space. Other alterations include filling external windows and relocating a fire escape door to accommodate the planned changes. While there are no significant landscaping projects in the proposal, some adjustments to the ramp access at the main entrance are suggested.
Additionally, the plan involves constructing two escape ramps leading to the outdoor dining area and spa relaxation spaces. Those interested in reviewing the full planning proposal can access it on South Ayrshire Council’s planning portal using the reference number 25/00109/APP.
The primary goal of these proposed changes is to enhance the overall visitor experience and ensure that the facilities are modern, striking, and welcoming to all who use them. The modifications aim to create a more appealing and relaxing atmosphere for guests, such as the addition of an outdoor dining space and a spa relax area, providing additional leisure options for visitors to enjoy during their stay at the park.
The lodging of these plans marks a positive step towards the restoration and improvement of Bennane Shore Holiday Park, offering potential new opportunities for guests to enjoy enhanced amenities and facilities in the future. The proposed changes demonstrate a commitment to revitalizing the park following the fire incident, aiming to create a more inviting and appealing destination for visitors to relax and unwind.
