Organized by Ian McCaig, WinterStorm faces challenges this year due to the current climate, with rising costs and limited band availability. Despite these hurdles, the festival team has curated an impressive mix of classic and new artists to cater to rock music fans. The festival’s theme, “The Spirit of ‘80,” will be celebrated with a blend of rock genres, including symphonic European metal, UK blues rock, Americana, folk metal, prog, US hard rock, punk, funk, and AOR.

The full lineup for the event, including the daily schedule, will be announced at the end of March. The festival kicks off with a four-band lineup on the opening Thursday, followed by full days of music starting from midday on Friday and Saturday. A “major” name is yet to be revealed due to touring commitments, building more anticipation for the event.

Scarlet Rebels, a Welsh rock band, will open the festival on the Steve Strange Main Stage, setting the tone for an epic weekend of rock music. Known for hits like “Everything About You” and “Cats in the Cradle,” the band promises an energetic start to the festival.

WinterStorm has always aimed to feature iconic artists, and this year, it will welcome Iron Maiden founder Steve Harris with his band British Lion. The festival will also host modern British metal band The Raven Age, recognized for their international performances alongside renowned acts like Killswitch Engage, Volbeat, Shinedown, and Alter Bridge.

Adding to the star-studded lineup is Russ Ballard, known for his work with Argent and hit compositions like “New York Groove” and “Since You Been Gone,” which became popular through renditions by other bands in the 1970s and 1980s. With such a diverse array of artists, WinterStorm continues to blend classic rock with new talent, creating a unique and exciting festival experience for attendees.

Overall, WinterStorm promises an unforgettable weekend of live music, entertainment, and great vibes for all rock enthusiasts. As the countdown to November begins, anticipation for the event is at an all-time high, with music fans eagerly awaiting the complete lineup and schedule for this year’s festival in Troon.
