Music video debut: Marble Ghosts releases “Eat The Rich” – Metal Insider
Ottawa’s own band, Marble Ghosts, has joined forces with Metal Insider to present a music video for their latest single, “Eat The Rich.” The song delves into the realm of wealth inequality and corporate avarice, encapsulating a politically charged message. Serving as a glimpse into their forthcoming sophomore EP, The Greatest Divide, the track serves as a prelude to the EP’s full release on April 4.
Lead vocalist Dylan Gunnell shared a reflective insight into the inspiration behind “Eat The Rich”:
“The lyrics of ‘Eat The Rich’ shed light on the stark contrast between the ultra-rich and those who suffer within a flawed system that continues to enrich them. Through a metaphorical lens, the band visualized a scenario where the world grapples with a zombie apocalypse. The elite are poised to escape to Mars as the zombie horde, once the backbone of capitalism, turns on them, tearing them to shreds. This gruesome retribution symbolizes the reckoning awaiting those who exploit others for profit.”
The band’s vision and artistic narrative are vividly brought to life in the accompanying music video. As the Earth teeters on the brink of ruin, the message of karma and comeuppance reverberates through the visual medium, underscoring the thematic weight of the song.
Listeners can anticipate a thought-provoking sonic journey with Marble Ghosts’ upcoming EP. “The Greatest Divide” blends social commentary with exhilarating rock elements, promising a multi-faceted musical experience. With tracks like “Distance Between,” “Trafficked (The Devil Inside),” and “Gloom,” the EP promises a diverse range of themes and soundscapes that captivate and resonate with audiences.
Marble Ghosts’ poignant take on societal tropes and human nature shines through in each track, inviting introspection and contemplation. The EP’s closing track, “Osmium,” is poised to leave a lasting impact, cementing the band’s reputation for engaging storytelling and musical depth.
As the release date of The Greatest Divide draws near, fans can secure their pre-orders to embark on this immersive musical expedition. Marble Ghosts’ EP promises to be a compelling exploration of contemporary issues and human struggles, packaged within a compelling musical framework that blurs the lines between artistry and activism.
