New video of Wind Breaker Season 2 shows additional cast members and reveals ending song; premiere on April 3

Aniplex recently unveiled the key visual and promotional video for the upcoming “KEEL arc” of the second season of the Wind Breaker manga adaptation. Scheduled to premiere on April 3, this season will introduce Junya Enoki as the new cast member, Shingo Natori, alongside an ending theme song titled “It’s myself” performed by the rock band shytaupe.

The second season of Wind Breaker is set to debut on April 3 as part of the Super Animeism TURBO block, airing on 28 MBS/TBS affiliate channels at 24:26 JST, which translates to April 4 at 12:26 a.m. The anime will be available for streaming on the ABEMA service and will also debut on various streaming platforms in Japan, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and U-NEXT. Furthermore, an advance screening event is scheduled for March 29 at the United Cinemas Aqua City Odaiba in Tokyo.

Ryōta Ōsaka will join the cast as Tasuku Tsubakino, a third-year high school student and one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Bōfūrin. Toshifumi Akai, known for directing Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, will return as the director of the second season, with series scripts once again helmed by Hiroshi Seko. The character designs will be done by Taishi Kawakami, while the music composition will be handled by Ryō Takahashi. The opening theme song will be performed by the boy band SixTONES.

In addition to the new cast members, a team of experienced staff members will contribute to the second season’s production, including Chief Animation Directors Taishi Kawakami and Yūsuke Tanaka, Action Director Kazuyuki Asaka, and Prop Design by Maiko Hado. Other roles such as Art Setting/Director, Color Key Artists, Compositing Director of Photography, 3D Director, Editing, and Sound Director have also been assigned to ensure a well-rounded production.

The Wind Breaker manga, originally launched in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app in January 2021, has been licensed by Kodansha USA Publishing for English releases. The series follows Haruka Sakura, a new student in a high school filled with delinquents turned heroes, as he sets out to establish himself as the strongest of them all. The manga has garnered attention for its action-packed narrative reminiscent of Tokyo Revengers, appealing to fans of stories centered around high school delinquents.

With a stage play adaptation already running and a mobile and PC game set to release soon, Wind Breaker continues to expand its universe across various media platforms. Fans can look forward to the thrilling and adrenaline-filled adventures of Haruka Sakura and his fellow students as they navigate the challenges of their unique school environment.
