Glass Hammer Releases Music Video for “Terminal Lucidity” from New Rogue Album
Glass Hammer recently unveiled a music video for “Terminal Lucidity,” the second to last track from their upcoming concept album Rogue, set to release on April 11, 2025.
Composer Steve Babb shared that “Terminal Lucidity” traverses several stylistic movements, ranging from ambient to a blend of ’90s electronica and psychedelic sounds, culminating in a grand prog-rock finale.
‘Rogue’ narrates the poignant tale of a man’s ultimate journey. Babb delves into the album’s exploration of themes such as regret, heartache, and the profound reflections that accompany aging, emphasizing life’s ephemeral nature. Despite its weighty subject matter, Babb assures that Rogue deviates from Glass Hammer’s recent heavier releases, harkening back to the band’s classic style, much to the delight of their fans.
The album features an eclectic lineup, as Glass Hammer has once again reinvented itself, introducing fresh faces to the mix. Familiar names such as Fred Schendel and Reese Boyd are joined by David Wallimann, Thomas Jakob, Olivia Tharpe, Oliver Day, Ariel Perchuck, and Evgeni Obruchkov, forming an internationally diverse and highly skilled ensemble that promises to captivate audiences.
‘Rogue’ marks Glass Hammer’s twenty-second studio album, offering fans the opportunity to pre-order signed copies, merchandise, and downloads through the band’s official website. The album promises an hour-long journey through its tracklist, which includes titles like “What If,” “The Road South,” “Tomorrow,” “Pretty Ghost,” “Sunshine,” “I Will Follow,” “The Wonder Of It All,” “One Last Sunrise,” “Terminal Lucidity,” and “All Good Things.”
In a separate Prog Report feature, Glass Hammer’s Fred Schendel, and Steve Babb contribute to the Tracks of the Month for February 2025, offering readers an additional glimpse into the band’s musical endeavors.
As Glass Hammer continues to evolve and create, ‘Rogue’ stands as a testament to their enduring artistry and passion for storytelling through music, inviting listeners to embark on a musical odyssey through the intricacies of life, love, and the human experience.
