Billy Joel, 75, causes concern as he falls and loses balance during concert
Billy Joel took a tumble during his performance at Mohegan Sun in Montville, Connecticut, on February 22.
During his rendition of “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me,” the music icon was captured in a video posted on TikTok losing his footing after spinning his microphone and launching it towards the audience.
The iconic “Piano Man” ended up on his side before rolling onto his back as a result of the fall. However, he managed to recover, finish the song, and even play one more track for the audience.
Despite appearing unharmed after the incident, online observers expressed their worry over Joel’s well-being. One comment on the video stated, “Oh my gosh, he looks like he was hurt.”
Another concerned individual shared, “That fall at the end had me worried. I saw him a couple of years ago and he’s still got it… sounds great and he’s having a great time… maybe just stay on your two feet, Billy.”
There was also a comment expressing concern about the dangers of a fall at his age, with one netizen stating, “Dangerous fall being 75.”
The mishap occurred shortly after Joel had to cancel a Florida concert in January due to an undisclosed “medical procedure.” Despite the fall, Joel has not publicly addressed the incident and seems determined not to slow down. In fact, he has a busy tour schedule planned through November of 2025.
Following the fall, Joel even announced additional tour dates, including performances at Yankee Stadium, MetLife Stadium, and Citi Field this summer.
Looking ahead with excitement, Joel expressed his anticipation for playing at these legendary stadiums, each holding personal significance for him. He will be sharing the stage with iconic artists such as Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks, and Sting, all of whom he holds in high regard.
Moreover, before embarking on his current tour, Joel completed a residency at Madison Square Garden, delighting fans with a monthly show for an entire decade.
Despite the stumble at the concert, Billy Joel remains resilient and dedicated to his craft, continuing to captivate audiences with his timeless music and unforgettable performances.
