Shaggy & Sting Set to Drop New Single “Til A Mawnin” on Feb. 27th, 2025
Reggae legends Shaggy and Sting are set to release their latest single, “Til A Mawnin,” on February 27th, 2025. This new track pays tribute to the Sound System culture of reggae music, a cornerstone of the genre’s global influence. Following their Grammy Award-winning collaborative album, 44/876, the dynamic duo is back with a fresh fusion of old-school reggae vibes and contemporary styles.
The new single, a partnership between Shaggy’s Ranch Entertainment and VP Records, showcases Sting’s melodic prowess and Shaggy’s vibrant flow. Together, they explore the roots of reggae music, drawing inspiration from the rich history of the genre. The accompanying music video, directed by Jay Will, breathes life into this homage to reggae’s enduring legacy.
“Til A Mawnin” is a reinterpretation of Henry “Junjo” Lawes’ iconic “I’m Not Getting Crazy” riddim, a classic foundation in reggae music. Originally produced by Lawes with the legendary Roots Radics Band, this riddim has been the backdrop for timeless reggae hits such as Don Carlos’ “I’m Not Crazy,” Frankie Paul’s “Worries in the Dance,” and Yellowman’s “Getting Married.” Shaggy and Shane Hoosong have infused new energy into this updated version while staying true to its dancehall roots.
The single was mixed by four-time Grammy Award winner Robert Orton and mastered by Gene Grimaldi at Oasis Mastering, ensuring a high-quality sonic experience for listeners. Fans can look forward to experiencing the magic of “Til A Mawnin” live when Sting and Shaggy co-headline the Reggae Rise Up Festival in St. Petersburg, FL on March 13th.
This latest release from Shaggy and Sting is a celebration of the vibrant Sound System culture that has shaped the landscape of reggae music. With their unique blend of musical styles and deep respect for the genre’s roots, the duo continues to push the boundaries of reggae music while honoring its rich heritage. Stay tuned for the release of “Til A Mawnin” and immerse yourself in the infectious rhythms and captivating melodies of these two musical legends.
