Laci Kaye Booth receives surprise invitation to make Grand Ole Opry debut at Parker McCollum concert
Country music artist Laci Kaye Booth received a thrilling surprise at a recent Parker McCollum concert in Cedar Rapids. McCollum took the stage to announce Booth’s upcoming debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry on March 29, 2025.
Booth, who has spent six years honing her craft in Nashville and achieved a Top 5 placement on the 17th season of American Idol, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity. She shared, “I have waited six years in Nashville and my entire life for this opportunity,” while standing alongside McCollum during the concert.
The Grand Ole Opry show in March promises to be a remarkable event, with the addition of esteemed artists such as Bill Anderson, Steve Earle, and Mark Wills. Following the announcement, fellow musicians Ella Langley, Lainey Wilson, and Mackenzie Carpenter reached out to offer their congratulations to Booth on her upcoming debut.
Booth’s musical journey has not been without its challenges. She faced setbacks after an initial deal with Big Machine Records fell through, leading to the shelving of an album. However, she continued to pursue her passion by signing with Geffen Records and subsequently releasing “The Loneliest Girl In The World.”
Originally hailing from Texas, Booth made the move to Nashville post her appearance on American Idol in 2019. Her music blends elements of George Strait’s classic country sound with Stevie Nicks’ rock influences, all while capturing the raw authenticity reminiscent of Merle Haggard.
Fans can catch Booth’s next performance at the Sand in My Boots 2025 Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama on May 16, 2025. It is clear that Booth’s dedication to her craft and resilience in the face of challenges have paved the way for her to shine on prestigious stages like the Grand Ole Opry.
