Outstanding music performances to enjoy over the long weekend
Korea is gearing up for an exciting lineup of music shows as the country enters the Samiljeol holiday weekend, marking the March 1st Independence Movement Day. One of the highly anticipated performances is by Norwegian DJ and producer Kygo, known for hits like “It Ain’t Me” with Selena Gomez and his work with BTS Jin on “The Astronaut.” Kygo is set to take the stage at Inspire Arena in Incheon’s Yeongjongdo, his first show in Korea since 2018. The concert will feature tracks from his 2024 album “Kygo,” with special guest appearances by Canadian DJ Frank Walker and Norwegian singer-songwriter Victoria Nadine.
Meanwhile, BTS’s J-Hope is embarking on his first solo world tour titled “Hope on the Stage.” Kicking off the tour with three concerts at Kspo Dome in Seoul, J-Hope will be performing tracks from his special album “Hope on the Street Vol. 1,” released during his military service. Following the Seoul concerts, J-Hope will continue his tour with 31 shows in 15 cities worldwide, becoming the first Korean solo artist to headline a concert at Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium.
German-Russian DJ and producer Zedd will also be hitting the stage at Inspire Arena on Saturday. Zedd gained international recognition with his debut album “Clarity” and has collaborated with the likes of Maren Morris, Ariana Grande, and Alessia Cara. Known for his electrifying performances, Zedd’s show is expected to be a highlight of the weekend. Additionally, singer-songwriter Keshi will be holding a concert at the Olympic Hall in Seoul. Keshi, born to Vietnamese American parents, gained popularity for his dreamy vocal style and released his debut studio album “Gabriel” in 2022.
Korea’s legendary rock band YB is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a special club concert titled “YB: Metalogic” at Rolling Hall in Seoul. YB, fronted by Yoon Do-hyun, recently released their latest album “Odyssey” featuring tracks that embrace the intensity of metal music. The band’s return to Rolling Hall, where they frequently performed in their early days, holds sentimental value, especially after Yoon Do-hyun’s battle with cancer last year. Fans can expect a high-energy performance showcasing the band’s rock prowess.
As music fans gear up for the long weekend, the electrifying DJ sets, rock performances, and K-pop shows promise a vibrant and exciting start to the spring season in Korea. With a lineup of top international and Korean artists, these music shows are set to bring the energy and celebration that mark the Samiljeol holiday weekend.
