Lainey Wilson has contributed the foreword to a new children’s book titled “Howdy: Welcome to the Grand Ole Opry,” scheduled for release on September 16, 2025. The book, authored by Opry historian Emily Frans and featuring illustrations by Susannah Chapman, offers young readers a glimpse into the world of the renowned Nashville music venue.

Recently unveiled by People magazine on February 21, 2025, the book introduces children to the Grand Ole Opry by following the journey of a young musician. Through the pages of the book, kids will be introduced to legendary figures like Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash, as well as contemporary stars such as Scotty McCreery and Kelsea Ballerini.

Dan Rogers, in a statement to MusicRow, expressed his admiration for Lainey Wilson, emphasizing her significance to the future of the Opry. Wilson, who was welcomed as an Opry member in June 2024 following a surprise invitation from Reba McEntire on “The Voice,” received a warm reception from country music icons Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood during her induction ceremony.

Trisha Yearwood remarked during the ceremony, “We are honored to be here tonight. There can never be too many women at the Grand Ole Opry.” Wilson, in a heartfelt moment during her induction, invited her family on stage, recognizing their unwavering support and contribution to her success.

The children’s book promises to transport young readers behind the scenes of the Grand Ole Opry, offering a peek into the bustling dressing rooms and the lively pre-show preparations. In her foreword, Wilson reminisces about her initial visit to the Opry at the age of nine and the unforgettable experience of performing there on Valentine’s Day in 2020.

Since its inception in 1925, the Grand Ole Opry has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of country music. “Howdy: Welcome to the Grand Ole Opry” will be available for purchase on Amazon and at local bookstores, allowing children to embark on a musical journey through one of Nashville’s most iconic venues.
