Sabrina Carpenter has had quite an eventful week as she recently appeared on the SNL50 Anniversary Special and unveiled the deluxe edition of her album “Short n’ Sweet,” which catapulted her back to the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart, marking its 11th non-consecutive week at #1. The album has been a tremendous success, generating three chart-topping singles, namely Espresso, Please Please Please, and Taste. The deluxe version features a new rendition of Please Please Please with Dolly Parton, causing the track to surge from #39 to #17 on the chart. Interestingly, this marks Dolly’s return to the top 20 after a 42-year absence, with her last appearance being in 1983 with the hit duet “Islands In The Stream” alongside Kenny Rogers.

Mallrat, originally from Brisbane, made a debut appearance at #35 with her new single “Light Hit My Face Like A Straight Right.” Mallrat’s debut EP, “Driving Music,” gained popularity, reaching #10 in 2019, while her first full-length album, “Butterfly Blue,” peaked at #6 in 2022. Following her closely on the charts, Aussie rock band Hands Like Houses entered at #36 with their latest album called “Atmospherics.” Their previous albums, “Dissonants” at #7 in 2016 and “Anon” at #4 in 2018, have been well-received.

On the other hand, Drake landed at #2 with his new collaborative album with PartyNext Door, titled “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U.” The Canadian artist has an impressive track record, boasting five #1 albums, including “Views,” “Scorpion,” “Dark Lane Demo Tapes,” “Certified Lover Boy,” and “For All The Dogs.” The album contains three tracks that made a debut in the top 50 Singles Chart, with Nokia entering at #28.

The English indie rock band The Wombats emerged at #12 with their latest album, “Oh! The Ocean.” The band’s previous albums, “This Modern Glitch,” “Glitterbug,” “Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life,” and “Fix Yourself, Not The World” peaked at #2, #2, #5, and #2 respectively. Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar’s chart-topping single “Not Like Us” retained its #1 position for the second consecutive week, with two other tracks from the artist, “Luther” and “All The Stars” featuring SZA, making notable gains.

Kendrick Lamar recently made history by becoming the first living male artist since Herb Alpert in 1966 to have three albums in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart simultaneously, a remarkable achievement. Sabrina Carpenter’s new track “Busy Woman” from the deluxe edition of “Short n’ Sweet” debuted at #22, adding to her string of hits, making it her 14th single to chart in the top 50. Her success has been nothing short of phenomenal, racking up placements on the charts in under three years.
