Infected Rain releases new music video “About Time”
Moldovan musical group Infected Rain recently unveiled their latest album, titled “Time,” in February of last year. During a backstage interview at Sentrum Scene, the band’s frontwoman, Lena Scissorhands, shared insights about the new release, their collaboration with vocal coach Melissa Cross, and a memorable experience involving a panic attack during the filming of a music video for their single “Because I Let You.”
Reflecting on their participation in the 70000TONS of Metal festival, Lena opened up about the mixed bag of experiences they encountered. She recounted instances where equipment delays hampered their performances, leading to moments of high stress and improvisation before taking the stage. Weighted by technical difficulties and fatigue from late-night shows, the band navigated through a rollercoaster of emotions during the festival.
Despite the challenges faced at the festival, Infected Rain found solace in connecting with fans during an intimate album listening session. This personal interaction bolstered their spirits and highlighted the enduring support of their loyal fan base. Lena also mentioned the unique opportunity to bond with fellow musicians and attendees at the festival, which offered a departure from the typical hustle and bustle of larger events.
Turning the spotlight towards the band’s lineup changes, Lena discussed the seamless integration of Alice into the group, emphasizing the harmony and balance that Alice’s presence has brought to their live performances. With nearly a hundred shows under their belt, the quartet has solidified their rapport both on and off stage, fostering a sense of camaraderie that enhances their musical synergy.
As a veteran in the industry, Infected Rain has maintained a consistent album release schedule, unveiling a new record every two years. Lena shed light on the organic process behind their album production, emphasizing the importance of allowing ample time for each release to resonate with listeners before embarking on the creative journey of composing new material. This deliberate pacing has allowed the band to strike a balance between promoting their current album and cultivating fresh ideas for future projects.
When quizzed about the inspiration behind the album’s title, “Time,” Lena shared the collective brainstorming process that led to its selection. Delving into the multifaceted nature of time as a concept, she underscored the universal yet subjective quality of time that unites individuals while simultaneously setting them apart. Drawing from philosophical musings on the elusive nature of time, Infected Rain endeavored to encapsulate these complexities through their music, creating a thematic tapestry that transcends temporal boundaries.
In retrospect, Lena revealed that the notion of time emerged as a thematic thread organically during the album’s creative process. As the band delved deeper into their musical exploration, the underlying motif of time subtly woven through their lyrics and melodies, culminating in a cohesive conceptual album that marked a new chapter in their discography. Through introspective tracks such as “Dying Light” and “Never To Return,” Infected Rain delved into surreal landscapes where time appeared distorted, pushing the boundaries of conventional storytelling and musical expression.
