The story follows Morihito Otogi, who hails from a family of ogre familiars and possesses incredible strength. He is tasked with becoming the familiar of his childhood friend, a teenage witch named Nico. Living together, Morihito’s duty is to safeguard Nico from any potential threats. Meanwhile, Nico harbors feelings for Morihito, but his dedication to protecting her complicates their romantic prospects, especially as a prophecy looms over her.
The series is scheduled to air in Japan on April 6, with screenings in North American theaters on March 16-18, followed by showings in Asia, selected European countries, and South Korea. The anime will span two cours, airing on MBS, TBS, and affiliated channels every Sunday at 5:00 p.m. JST. International fans can catch the series on various streaming platforms like Crunchyroll, Netflix, ADN, Aniplus, Hulu, and Tropics.
The production team includes Hiroshi Ikehata as director, Deko Akao handling series scripts, and Haruko Iizuka designing the characters. Notable voice actors have been cast in the series, with Ryōta Suzuki playing Morihito Otogi and Rina Kawaguchi voicing Nico Wakatsuki.
Witch Watch is currently being serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, with the 20th volume released in January.
